The Gospel and Parenting Conference

The Gospel and Parenting Conference

About:

Parenting can be tough work, but it is one of the most important things that we will ever do.  In parenting, the days are long but the years are short.  Time goes by so quickly and soon our children will be on their own.  We need to make the most of the opportunities that the Lord has given to us with our children.

Come join us as we talk about how the gospel leads us to the heart of parenting.  Understanding the gospel radically transforms how we live – including how we parent.  God pursues us, loves us, and disciplines us for our good and then He invites us to be agents of His grace in our children’s lives.

We hope to see you at The Gospel and Parenting Conference.

Details:

Date:  Friday, April 7th (6:30pm-8:30pm) and Saturday, April 8th (9:00am-12:00pm)

Location: Bend City Church 224 Butternut St, West Bend, WI 53095

“Encountering Jesus” Series

"Encountering Jesus" Series

On Sunday, September 7th, we will begin a new preaching series called “Encountering Jesus.”  Come take part in our Sunday morning gatherings as we learn of the God-man Jesus Christ through his encounters with others throughout the Bible.

Our aim is to expose who Jesus was (and is), so we can grow to know Him as our creator, brother, and Savior.  Hope to see you this September and October!- Shane

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

[Phl 3:8-14 ESV] 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith– 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal ... Continue Reading.

Bend City Easter Service

Bend City Easter Service

2000 years ago Jesus walked the earth.  He lived and then he died.  But… he also rose again.  Jesus did in three days what no man would ever be able to accomplish.  Easter is the celebration of this most central part of all of Christianity – that Jesus conquered death.  His resurrection was, without exaggeration, the most victorious feat ever accomplished among humanity.

We want to invite you to come join us Sunday March 31st as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection and the impact of his resurrection on our daily lives.  Please join us at 9:30am at 224 Butternut St in West Bend.  Hope to see you there!

Location: 224 Butternut St, West Bend Time: 9:30 Date: Sunday March 31st

Thoughts on Loving One Another

Let Us Love One Another

I wanted to share an encouraging note I received after a women’s event a few weeks back. A woman who had never been to Bend City before wrote,

“I just want to say thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome. I have never been so comfortable among a group of strangers.”

I know quite a few others who have shared this same sentiment, however I also know that this is not how every new person at Bend City has felt.

Our church has had the great privilege of seeing a huge wave of new faces begin to attend regularly around the same time. This is an exciting time for our young body and yet a time that calls us to be more intentional and more aware of the new and/or non-connected people.

As a new person it would be easy to have wrong perception that we are the ONLY new person and that everyone else is talking to life long friends, when in reality many of the conversations that go on at ... Continue Reading.

Women’s Retreat

GIRLS-we would love for you to join the women of BCC for two days of fun, hanging out, being encouraged and more. We will be meeting at Camp Silverbrook, which is a local retreat center right here in West Bend, so you can join us for some of it or hopefully all of it. You do not have to spend the night, but it would be great if you can.

The retreat center is beautifully located right on a lake. There will be lots to do!

Below is a rough draft of the schedule.

4:30-5:00 sign in/get settled 5:00-6:00 dinner 6:00-6:30 ice breaker 6:30-7:30 worship/teaching 7:30-8:30 games 8:30-?? free time

Jesus, Jesus, Song of God

A member of Bend City Church wrote this a while back.  I thought it was beautiful and am sharing it with permission.

“Jesus, Jesus, Song of God in the bosom of Your heavenly place the melody rang so strong it burst the dark of time and space, and the angels sang along.”

From lips of love divine, breathed out, made flesh the Word in infant’s shout Jesus, Jesus, Song of God.

Your melody, ancient of days, rests quietly now on manger bed, in harmony with the maiden’s ways and lullabies as You are fed. Jesus, Jesus, Song of God.

The Word, sweet song, now in babe whispered low, will crescendo throughout Judah, in lion’s roar. Jesus, Jesus, Song of God.”
